Chapter 98
Kang Se-heon entered with a smile—but only for a moment. In the blink of an eye, his face hardened. Tae-seo, still frozen in place as he watched that shift in expression, didn’t move as Se-heon strode quickly toward him.
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
It wasn’t until Kang Se-heon came right up to him and touched his face that Tae-seo finally stirred. From the moment he saw him, all his attention had tunneled into Se-heon. The way his eyebrows shifted, the way he bit his lip like he might draw blood—Tae-seo had been dazed, watching every detail.
The moment he saw his face, everything from before he fell asleep came rushing back like a dam breaking. He confessed to me.
A quiet heat climbed up his cheeks.
“Tae-seo?”
Se-heon’s voice snapped him out of his daze. Right. He asked if I was hurt.
“Not hurt, really...”
Tae-seo, recalling the strange sensation he’d felt before Se-heon came in, awkwardly placed his hand over his stomach.
“Was it a gurgle? Or maybe... a bubbling sound? Like a water bubble popping? I don’t even know how to describe it.”
At first, he thought it might’ve just been hunger, but it felt oddly different. And yet, it was hard to say exactly how it was different. While Tae-seo gently rubbed his belly in confusion, Se-heon’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he reached out his hand.
He laid his hand over Tae-seo’s, trying to feel it for himself—but it was no use.
