Chapter 83
It wasn’t just anyone—it was Seo Da-rae, and that’s what Tae-seo hated. It wasn’t that he resented Seo Da-rae himself, but the thought of being tangled up with him again was unbearable. He just wanted them all to live their own separate lives in peace, so why did things keep circling back?
“...I’m sorry.”
Tae-seo’s eyes wavered, unfocused, searching for somewhere to land. Kang Se-heon’s face was right in front of him, but his expression remained blurry. Then Se-heon gently lifted Tae-seo’s chin so their eyes could meet.
“I didn’t mean to make you feel anxious.”
He slowly swept his hand down Tae-seo’s face, from his eyes to his jaw, with care.
“I found out you collapsed because of Seo Da-rae. So I went to him, told him exactly what he’d done wrong, and made it clear he was never to mess with you again. Whatever it was I said must’ve stuck with him—he came looking for me today.”
“So you met him before. Then he probably mentioned me, didn’t he?”
“If he didn’t, he’d be lying. But your story wasn’t the point. It was more important to go over what happened back then. And although I don’t remember exactly... Seo Da-rae, apparently, took something I said to heart—”
“Wait!”
Tae-seo raised a palm to stop him. Kang Se-heon fell silent mid-sentence, watching him. Tae-seo let out a sigh and shook his head.
“Now I get what happened.”
“I haven’t even told you everything yet.”
