Even though Tae-seo acted like meeting Seo Da-rae didn't weigh on him, he must have felt the psychological burden. On the way back, his legs nearly gave out several times. He hadn't been diagnosed at the hospital, but he knew exactly what he needed—nothing else but Kang Se-heon's pheromones.
He picked up his phone and tapped on Se-heon's number, but after a deep sigh, he let his arm drop.
He knew Se-heon had work to do today, and he couldn’t just selfishly demand him to come over. Tae-seo shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, but the dizziness only worsened, and his chest felt unbearably tight.
“Oh my, Tae-seo! Are you alright? You’re sweating so much...”
“It’s just hot outside. I walked back, so I’m sweating. I’ll go upstairs and rest.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’ll be fine after some rest.”
Reassuring the housekeeper with a forced smile, Tae-seo gripped the stair railing. He never paid attention to the railing before, but today, he felt like he couldn’t climb the stairs without it. His body was rapidly losing strength, and a sharp, needle-like pain spread through his head as if thousands of pins were stabbing into him at once. It felt like something was gripping his heart, squeezing it tightly—he needed to get to his room as soon as possible.
He stumbled once on the way up, but using all the strength he had left, he made it to his room. However, he couldn’t even make it to his bed before collapsing forward. His condition had deteriorated from the moment he parted with Seo Da-rae, during the walk home, and even while talking to the housekeeper. Now, just climbing a single step had sent a crushing sensation through his entire body.
“What’s... happening to me?”
Even breathing felt suffocating, and even though he was on the floor, it felt like his body was floating, untethered. He tried to hold onto his senses, but the more he tried, the more his mind blurred.
“...It hurts.”
