Just when Wu Lin thought she was about to be strangled to death, Deng Yunlan suddenly let go of her hand.
Wu Lin immediately gasped for air like a drowning person suddenly receiving it, her neck now marked with five clear fingerprints.
Deng Yunlan stood up slowly. It wasn’t out of kindness or leniency; she simply intended to spare Wu Lin’s life as a potential hostage at a critical moment.

Then, she turned and looked at an underling, pulled a key out from her body, and tossed it over, instructing, "Get to it."
The Demon Cultist caught the key Deng Yunlan tossed over and immediately walked towards the volcanic pit, all the way to the edge, stepping onto a thick iron chain spanning both ends.
She moved slowly forward on the chain, walking gradually to the middle.
Below was the blistering, red-hot molten lava, waves of heat surging upwards, making the Demon Cultist feel as if she were inside a furnace, her skin sensing a slight burning pain.
This place was nearly a hundred feet above the molten lava below, yet the heat could be felt so intensely, showing how terrifying the temperature below truly was.
