Chapter 486 - 450: Making a Move
Strictly speaking, throwing hidden weapons cannot be considered a complete form of Martial Arts but rather a technique for exerting force. Therefore, there are no Master Level hidden weapons or Grandmaster Level hidden weapons in the system. Instead, some martial arts techniques include methods for using hidden weapons, like the Shaolin Plum Blossom Darts and the Shaolin Flying Knife, found in Shaolin Fist techniques.
After exchanging for so many Martial Arts techniques, Wu naturally knew how to use hidden weapons, having even practiced them specially. Otherwise, when he had thrown daggers and dinner knives in the past, his technique wouldn’t have been so fierce or accurate.
But compared to Fist techniques, Wu couldn’t really say he excelled in hidden weapons, it was just that relying on sufficient Explosive Power and fairly good accuracy, he had managed to avoid making mistakes with them in the past.
Later, when the exchange rights for Grandmaster Level Ultimate Moves were opened, Wu discovered several techniques--or rather, Techniques--for using hidden weapons. Clearly, these were Ultimate Moves created by Grandmasters who excelled in hidden weapons.
Glancing at the prices, most of the hidden weapons Ultimate Moves were not expensive. Just one or two Master Stars were enough for an exchange. Wu happened to have one Master Star left, so he exchanged it for a technique called Furious Wind, which used darts.
Compared to firearms driven by gunpowder, hidden weapons are driven by human force. The Furious Wind move Wu exchanged could not simply be about throwing darts. The use of Muscle Strength, Muscle Bone Power, and even the manipulation of Qi and blood all had their specifics. It was an explosive technique similar to the Sumeru Seal, and practicing it regularly could not only enhance control over Qi and blood, but also strengthen wrist strength. It was a Training Method that merged with Technique.
This time going into battle, Wu carried twenty darts with him. Previously, they were hung in two rows on a Bullet-Proof Vest; now, they were tied around his waist in a specialized pouch.
The reason he hadn’t used hidden weapons when he was beaten into a sorry state before was that it wouldn’t have made much difference.
After all, hidden weapons are meant for close-range surprise attacks. Their optimal effective range is within ten meters. Just now, those combatants’ positions were too scattered; it was one-on-one, and once he was within ten meters, Wu could handle his opponent without hidden weapons, so there was no need to use them.
But now, facing a three-on-one situation and the combined firepower of the trio, Wu broke through with a single dart.
Seizing the moment of opportunity, Wu exerted force from his limbs and vaulted up from the ground, lunging out.
