Monsters Are Coming

Chapter 1189 316: Perfect Marketing: The Inevitable Winning Gamble (Part 4)

Time passed, and the Gangster summoned the map to check, realizing that the patrol route hadn't advanced toward Mist Conceal Island at all. He couldn't help but complain in the team chat:

"Isn't this patrol route too repetitive? Why are we just going in circles?"

"Don't worry, the Mingwu Clan's patrols are usually irregular. Be patient." A teammate quickly reassured him.

Just as the Gangster was about to continue his rant, a water column suddenly erupted in the distance on the sea surface.

A player fleet was forcefully breaking through the blockade; cannon fire roared, spells intertwined, and the sea surface instantly boiled.

The Mingwu Squad, which the Gangster was part of, immediately entered combat mode, and the captain ordered coldly:

"Intercept!"

Seeing players from his own side appear, the Gangster's heart tightened.

If the Shadow Leaping Body joined the battle, it was very likely to be killed, but if he didn't act, it would arouse suspicion just the same.

"Brothers, something big has happened. We've encountered our own violent breakout group. What should we do? Should we fight?"

"Fight, but don't overexert yourself."

"By the way, when fighting, send me the game IDs of the violent breakout group. I'll privately message them to beg for mercy, asking them not to target you."

"Got it. The fight's starting. Get ready to message for mercy."

The battle was on the verge of breaking out. The sea fortress driven by the violent breakout group was rapidly approaching, and the Mingwu Warriors took action one after another.

The Gangster, controlling the Shadow Leaping Body, reluctantly joined along.

Upon seeing the opposing players' IDs, he decisively sent them in the team chat.

Over ten seconds later, the impatient Gangster inquired in the chat:

"How is it going? Have you messaged them?"

"Begging for mercy now. You keep fighting but don't strike too hard. Be careful our brothers don't actually kill you."

Not long after, the Gangster's anxious voice sounded again:

"Damn, the opponent's warband is so brutal, it's a bit scary. Did you guys actually message them?"

"We've contacted them, sent a sacrificial power red envelope, so just fight with peace of mind. They will spare your life."

The battle concluded half an hour later.

Only 23 warriors of the Mingwu Squad survived, including the Shadow Leaping Body under the Gangster's control, who was faking the fight.

The player-composed violent breakout squad was entirely wiped out.

At this moment, the battered patrol squad opted to move toward Mist Conceal Island

This decision filled the Gangster and his teammates with excitement.

The distance to victory was closing in.

The patrol squad, dragging a broken formation, flew in the direction of Mist Conceal Island.

The mist over the sea grew denser, the temperature around dropped sharply, and tiny ice crystals in the air were visible.

In the distance, the outline of an island shrouded in black fog gradually became clear; that was the clan land of the Mingwu Clan: Mist Conceal Island.

The Gangster controlled the Shadow Leaping Body, mingling among the surviving Mingwu Warriors, his heart beating like a drum.

"Almost there, one hundred fifty thousand sacrificial power is within reach." He cheered quietly in the team voice chat.

"Don't be happy too soon. The closer you get to Mist Conceal Island, the more powerful the Mingwu Clan members become. Your Shadow Leaping Body may be flawless, but mind your actions. Watch what the other Mingwu Warriors do and follow suit." His teammate cautioned.

The Gangster swallowed hard and manipulated the Shadow Leaping Body to scan the surroundings.

The Mingwu Warriors beside him marched silently, neither speaking nor showing sadness over fallen comrades.

Just as they were about to reach the shore, a dark figure slowly emerged from the fog.

This was a high-level commander of the Mingwu Clan, clad in dark pattern armor, with black mist swirling around. Just standing there, it gave the Gangster a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Patrol squad, report the situation." The commander's voice was low and deep.

The captain of the Mingwu Squad immediately stepped forward, knelt on one knee, and respectfully said:

"Reporting to the commander, we encountered a Player Clan raid and suffered heavy losses, but we annihilated the enemy forces."

The commander's gaze slowly swept over the remaining warriors, and finally stopped at the Shadow Leaping Body controlled by the Gangster.

Targeted!

The Gangster's whole body stiffened, cold sweat soaking his back instantly.

"Your aura is a bit chaotic, are you injured?"

Facing the inquiry, the Gangster was anxious but held back his nervousness and didn't speak, only kneeling on one knee, fearing exposure.

Just when he thought he might be exposed, the squad captain explained for him:

"Commander, it suffered considerable injuries in battle and may be temporarily unable to speak."

The Gangster's heart was about to burst through his chest, and his teammates frantically reminded him through voice chat:

"Stay calm, don't panic. The worst-case scenario is a mission failure."

At the critical moment.

Boom!

A massive water column suddenly erupted on the distant sea surface, followed by a warship breaking through the water, pursued by thousands of Mingwu Warriors.

"Enemy attack! Player Clan assault!"

The commander couldn't be bothered with the Gangster, immediately shouting sharply:

"Intercept... you go inside the island to heal."

The Gangster, as if granted amnesty, quickly controlled the Shadow Leaping Body to follow the team deeper into Mist Conceal Island.

But it seemed the crisis was not yet resolved.

Along the way, the silhouettes of vigilant Mingwu Warriors could be seen, faintly visible in the swirling mist.

As an experienced player, the Gangster felt more tense now than when he faced death.

Death meant resurrection, but if discovered, losing would mean losing one hundred fifty thousand sacrificial power.

Continuing deeper inside, every hundred meters there was a sentry tower, with a ghostly blue fog lamp floating atop each.

Decomposition showed that this ghostly blue beam could quickly scan out potential concealed units.

It was clear the Mingwu Clan had long devised a targeted approach to infiltration.

Unfortunately for them, they were dealing with players.

A few minutes later, the Gangster controlled the Shadow Leaping Body, following the remaining Mingwu Warriors through the ink-like thick sea mist.
