"We welcome the Void Supreme!"
Voices reverberated across the Great Universe Hall. Several bows also followed. Kailen and Arrie’s loved ones were also here, in the fourth row of the VIP region. The supremes were in the first row of the VIP region.
They felt so proud of Kailen for coming so far—and for Arrie, for being the woman who had made him a better man. *Charles and the others should have been here to witness this,* they thought. Everyone decided they’d rub it in their faces when they came out of seclusion.
Kailen and Arrie floated calmly into their seats. The other supremes nodded towards them with glints of deep admiration and respect. Kailen and Arrie nodded respectfully towards them. Several in the hall discussed Kailen’s feats animatedly.
At the moment, the host of the event went ahead with several aspects of the ceremony. There were musical performances of top-tier musicians. Performances of comedians. Choreographies, among others. Finally, it was time for the main point of the ceremony to begin.
"Ladies and Gentlemen," the host said, "it’s time for why we have all gathered here. Please, let’s invite the Dark Supreme on stage to take us through the rest of the event."
Several applause followed as the Dark Supreme floated towards the large podium calmly, his frame widely displayed across several holographic screens spanning the Great Universe Hall.
"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. We will now proceed with the main event," he said, his gaze scanning across. "The Universe is already aware of who the Void Supreme is. However, it’s still necessary to refresh everyone’s memories."
The moment he spoke, the video of everything about Kailen which played on the day he was announced as the Void Supreme across the universe played again. Everyone in the hall paid close attention. Several emotions overwhelmed many people. Each of his feats was legendary. From the beginning of his journey, he had always been exceptional. What made it so touching was that he had risen from a place of obscurity and hopelessness to his current level.
Arrie felt it was all so surreal. Kailen was calm. He was sighing inwardly. These people were really going above and beyond. But what could he do?
"Brat, just bask in the spotlight," the Will of The Universe appeared around him. No one else could see her.
Kailen chuckled inwardly. "I have not made time to thank you for everything. Thank you, Golden Finger."
The Will of The Universe was taken aback. This brat... a warm smile appeared on her face. She nodded and disappeared into the shadow expanse.
Kailen’s gaze snapped back to the event. After the whole video finished playing out, the Dark Supreme said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, with a bow of profound respect and admiration—whether you are here, or at home, wherever you are—let’s welcome the Void Supreme, Kailen Darkhaven, and Her Excellency Arrie Hall, on stage."
Everyone in the hall, and several streaming the event, stood and performed a waist-length bow. They remained in that position as Kailen and Arrie appeared on the stage. Only the Dark Supreme resumed his standing position. Everyone else, including the supremes, was still bowing.
A sigil with some domineering engravings appeared. The sigil floated towards the Dark Supreme. The Dark Supreme held it. He moved towards Kailen. Arrie was standing by him. He was about to place the sigil on Kailen’s chest. However, an idea flashed through his mind. He turned to Arrie...
"Usually, a supreme is the one to place the supreme tag on a new supreme. However, I feel like it will be more beautiful this way. Don’t you think so, Your Excellency?"
He handed the sigil to Arrie. Arrie took it without hesitation. She understood. She turned to Kailen. An expression of warmth, love, admiration, and pride was in her eyes as she stared at him. She moved close to him. She placed the supreme sigil on his chest.
"Congratulations, dear," Arrie’s sweet and genuine voice reverberated not just in the hall, but across several places where eyes were glued to holographic screens.
The Dark Supreme also bowed. Alongside the other supremes, he said: "Welcome to the Supreme Council officially, Void Supreme!"
Every other person in the hall spoke these words. "We congratulate the Void Supreme on his official inauguration into the Supreme Council. May his legend live forever!"
The same words echoed across several regions of the Light Region of the universe.
"Are we really watching this? I’m not hallucinating, right?" Auctevius could not control himself. His grandson. His grandson was a supreme.
Everyone else felt the same way. They had all expected Kailen to get to this level someday. They had never doubted him. He had always been exceptional, legendary, carving unprecedented feats all the time. Every one of his feats was something that shattered every perception of what legends could achieve, after all.
What had surprised them was how quickly it had happened, catching them by surprise. Kailen was the youngest supreme to have ever appeared in the universe. He was also the most powerful supreme now.
This was obvious from the way the other supremes were treating him in their greetings now, and even when his supreme announcement was made across the universe. They made it extremely obvious. They treated him with deep respect, of course. This was how the supremes had been known to treat one another.
However, there was something else concerning how they treated the Void Supreme that proved he was the strongest among them. It was the way they looked at him, and that deep reverence everyone felt in their voices when they looked at him. Even the Dark Supreme was no exception when it came to this.
Many felt fortunate to witness this. It was a surreal sight. A historical moment. This was documented in the annals of the virtual universe archives.
In the year 90078, July 5 of the Universe Calendar, the youngest and most powerful supreme to have ever appeared in the universe was born.
He was the Void Supreme, Kailen Darkhaven!
