Chapter 127.Confronting the past 2.
"I had put you through unnecessary pain because of my weakness and flaw. I had to deal with it . I was planning on telling you about it ,when news of your father’s death reached us. I couldn’t live with the guilt of causing you such pain. I know I was not the cause of your dad’s death but at least had you been on good terms with him before he passed ,you wouldn’t have become so miserable after his death . I thought I was a cancer that had to leave your life and you deserved someone better. But I was wrong. I was wrong about a lot of things . I could have -"
" You could have opened up to me Kim Karasawa!. What’s the point of being with me when you were planning on shouldering all the burden you were carrying on your own!. For fuck’s sake Kim we were engaged !
We were not just dating. We had agreed to spend the rest of our miserable god forsaken lives together. If we had to be miserable ,couldn’t we have been miserable together?. The worst fucking part is that I haven’t felt anything for any woman after the stupid prank you pulled on me. I have a perfect secretary who has been making attempts at warming my bed and yet I don’t even give her the eye because women look like a cancer to me!. Not only that, inasmuch as I hate to admit it , I still have feelings for you!" Reynolds finally realized what he had said.
"I said I love you?. Why did I say that?" He muttered,sighing deeply.
Kim stood up with tears running down her cheek,placing her arms slowly around his neck ,hesitating he’d shun her " I still love you too Rey. I know I messed up and there’s no going back to change the past. But to err is human and to forgive is divine. I have never been with any man after what I did to you.
All these years have taught me about how stupid and naive I was to you back then. So can you please give me another chance to prove how much I love you to you, now that I’ve learnt my lesson?"
Reynolds looked Kim in the eye softly " I need some time to think .
Now see yourself out please"
Kim’s eyes widened as tears fell from her eyes.
" Thank you for at least deciding to think about it Reynolds. Please take as long as you want. I’ll be waiting"
She braced herself, using a tissue to wipe away her tears as she left the room.
