As Chris listened to Howard’s announcement displayed on the TV screen, his eyes widened in amazement as he learned about the various powers that had emerged.
The list of abilities seemed endless – beast tamers, controllers, individuals with super strength, super speed, and super endurance. Not to talk of those with elemental abilities as well. Chris’s mind began to spin with the possibilities, and he found himself thinking of people he knew who might possess these powers.
One person in particular came to mind when he thought of super strength: Dave. Chris recalled the matches at the casino, where Dave had demonstrated his incredible physical prowess.
His one-hit fame, the way he had effortlessly taken down his opponents – it all made sense now. Chris’s memories of those matches replayed in his mind, and he realized that Dave’s strength had been more than just talent, but instead a power he had.
But there was something else that Chris remembered about Dave, something that had nagged at him since their encounter with White. Dave had somehow managed to control the hybrids, creatures that were supposedly under White’s control via a remote device linked to the mother crystal.
Chris’s brow furrowed as he thought back to that moment. White had claimed that the remote device was the key to controlling the hybrids, but Dave had taken control of them without any apparent device. Had Dave’s abilities gone beyond just super strength? Chris’s curiosity was piqued, and he wondered what other secrets Dave might be having.
The inconsistencies surrounding Dave’s actions didn’t bother Chris at that moment. Even despite seeing him tame those hybrids. At that moment, his primary concern was escaping white and getting to safety which Dave had provided to him.
Moreover, the image of Dave turning the hybrids against White was still etched in his memory, a testament to his strength and... other abilities. Still, he couldn’t help but wonder. Could it be that Dave could also control beasts?
The hybrids, though not fully beasts, still responded to Dave’s commands, and Chris couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was more to Dave’s abilities than the eye meets.
As Chris walked alongside the group of teenagers that were with him, he found himself hoping to meet with Dave for one last time, before he leave to wherever he plan on going to. The group continued on, their footsteps echoing through the quiet streets as they made their way to the designated gathering point for the executives.
Moreover, as Chris’s thoughts lingered on Dave, they had inevitably drifted to Tasha as well. Since she has been the cause of the whole white incident in the first place.
The memory of her actions, the way she had kidnapped Dave and the rest of his group members, while planning to use them as experiments in white’s lab.
