Chapter 146: CH 146: Howard’s Big Announcement (Part 1)
"Good evening, everyone," the man’s voice boomed, echoing through the air like a gentle thunderclap. The words resonated through the cityscape, carrying on the wind to reach every corner of the globe. The tone was smooth, yet laced with an air of superiority.
The broadcast was a global phenomenon, transcending borders and boundaries. It wasn’t just Dave and the rest of the beast tamers who were witnessing the spectacle; millions of people around the world were glued to their screens, their faces illuminated by the glow of televisions, laptops, and billboards.
In the casino base, Anthony’s eyes narrowed as he watched the man on the screen, his expression unreadable. In other parts of the world, Chris, Gunther, and Simbi were among the countless individuals who had gathered around screens, their faces filled with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
Despite the chaos that had ravaged the world, the broadcast had somehow managed to pierce through the darkness. Electricity might be limited, wires might be cut, and buildings might lie in ruins, but the message was still reaching the masses.
And for those who couldn’t see it live, the news of what was said would spread like wildfire, carried by word of mouth and whispered conversations. The world was holding its breath, waiting to hear what the man on the screen had to say.
As everyone gazed at the screen, listening intently to the man’s words, he paused for a moment before continuing. "My name is Howard Gray," he said, his voice clear and confident, "and I have come to address everyone over the impending issue going on in our world." The words hung in the air, and the crowd’s eyes remained fixed on the screen, eager to hear more.
Howard’s expression was serious, his eyes locked onto the camera as if speaking directly to each individual. "I have not come on behalf of the government," he emphasized, his tone firm. "I have come on my own, with a solution of my own." The words sparked a mixture of reactions, some people exchanging skeptical glances, while others leaned in, intrigued.
"The apocalypse has been going around for almost three weeks," Howard continued, his voice painting a picture of the chaos that had engulfed the world. "But except from the ’don’t panic’ message that was broadcasted everywhere to everyone, we haven’t received any updates on what to do by the government." The crowd’s murmurs grew louder, as if echoing Howard’s sentiments. "Which is why I’ve decided to step up and do what the government is supposed to do," he declared, his voice filled with determination.
Howard’s gaze swept across the globe, his eyes seeming to meet those of every individual watching. "From my observations so far, majority of everyone on earth has powers," he revealed, his words dropping like a bombshell. "Some may not know, but they have powers within them. And there are also those that don’t have," he added, his tone matter-of-fact. "If you fall into that category, that’s just your fate." The crowd’s reactions were mixed, some people looking worried, while others seemed to be processing the information.
