Chapter 131: CH 131: Where is your Boss? (WMR9)
Dave’s eyes scanned the scene, sharp and calculating. Among the chaos, he still hadn’t seen Kim Hyun, the man he was told to look for, the one with the red mask. The supposed leader of this entire base. The ghost behind the curtain.
And then there was the bomb.
The system had warned him about it, but offered no clarity on its location or if it had already been triggered. For all he knew, the countdown could already be ticking. Fighting these idiots? It was nothing but a distraction and a waste of time.
He needed to finish this quickly, and find his wives before it was too late.
Two more masked men stepped into view, their blades drawn and charging with reckless aggression. Their swords sliced through the air in desperate arcs, but Dave didn’t flinch. What flinched was his rifle which had barked twice.
Bang. Bang.
Two clean shots, and two bodies could be seen hitting the ground. He didn’t miss a single shot, which shows how impressive his shooting skill was.
It didn’t matter how wildly they swung, how erratically they moved, his bullets always found their mark. Precision was his language, and death was fluent in it.
The remaining masked men, now wide-eyed and drenched in panic, hesitated. One glanced at the corpses littering the ground. Another took a shaky step back. Then, like frightened rats fleeing a sinking ship, they turned and bolted toward the building.
"Cowards!" Dave said and then he started moving.
He vanished from his position in a blur of motion. Dust spiraled in the space he left behind, and when he reappeared, he was already at the building’s entrance. He had his gun raised and an unreadable expression on his face.
