In an open-plan restaurant, over twenty hunters were drinking and chatting, exchanging information. Most of them had formed teams, but there were also Solo Hunters eating quietly by themselves.
"Ladies and gentlemen!"
A tall and burly man stood up, his loud voice capturing everyone’s attention, "Have you noticed that hunting in the Silent Wilderness has become increasingly difficult recently, with the harvests getting scarcer?"
There was silence in the restaurant for a few seconds before someone replied, "We have too."
"Exactly!"
The leader of another team stood up; he was a Mutant, speaking gravely, "We sensed something was off last month."
The Mutant scanned the room, "Before, my team would kill at least five Earth Devouring Worms a day, but after entering the Crying Moon, it dropped to three, and now we’re lucky to get two a day."
The crowd nodded in agreement, "Our team is experiencing something similar."
"Could there be some abnormality with the Earth Devouring Worm population again?" someone speculated.
A couple of months earlier, due to the news of an Earthquake Level Earth Devouring Worm, the Silent Wilderness had been bustling for a while, but after that creature wasn’t reported to be hunted, and it had not appeared since, the hunters gradually dispersed.
"What change could there be with those monster bugs? They have mutated for so many years, their genes have long since stabilized." The Mutant dismissed the speculation.
