Chapter 114: Movie Night Wishes
"I want that," little Zami said, her small voice soft and eager as she pointed to a cute storybook on the shelf. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. She couldn’t wait to show it to Great Grandpa, hoping he would read it to her tonight. Mira watched her daughter and husband with a warm smile, her heart swelling with happiness as she observed how well little Zami and Zamian were bonding.
Zamian, seeing Zami’s interest, handed her the storybook with a gentle smile. "Do you like it, princess?"
Zami nodded eagerly, then her attention was caught by a single rose nearby. Pointing at it with equal excitement, she said, "Oh, I want that one too!"
Zamian chuckled softly, carefully handing her the rose. "There you go."
But instead of keeping it, little Zami spun around and stretched her tiny hand out to Mira, holding up the rose with a beaming smile. Mira’s eyes widened, a wave of emotion flooding over her. She hadn’t expected Zami to give her the flower. It was such a small gesture, yet it felt overwhelmingly precious.
"Thank you, my baby," Mira whispered, her voice full of warmth as she accepted the rose, holding it close to her heart. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mummy," Zami replied, wrapping her little arms around Mira in a tight hug. Her voice had a slight lisp, pronouncing "really" as "weally," which made Mira’s heart melt every time she heard it.
Zamian watched them, his own emotions stirred. Part of him wanted to join in, to hold both of them close, but he restrained himself, not wanting to make the moment too intense for Zami. He noticed that when Zami handed Mira the rose, a memory surfaced in his mind—a painful one. He remembered the day he had brought Mira a bouquet of roses, only to find that she had left. It was that day he had truly understood heartbreak, a feeling he thought he’d never have to endure.
Little Zami, noticing his pensive look, tilted her head and asked in a small voice, "Mr. Zamian... um, weally, are you staying tonight?"
