Forbiddenly Bound To  You

Chapter 63: Caught Off Balance

Mira’s heart pounded like a drum the moment she finished speaking. The silence in the room hung heavily, amplifying her anxiety as she glanced around, wondering if she was truly alone. Just as doubt began to creep into her mind, a click echoed through the air, breaking the stillness. ’Why hadn’t she thought of it before?’Of course, they had spare keys.

Heavens,please save me.

Nana stepped into the room, and relief flooded through Mira like a gentle wave. She sighed softly, the tension in her shoulders easing slightly. At least it wasn’t Zamian. Yet, a surge of self-consciousness washed over her as her heart raced, recalling her state of undress. The vulnerable position she found herself in made her feel exposed and fragile.

"Mrs. Mira, Mr. Zamian has been looking for you," Nana announced, her voice steady and composed, a stark contrast to Mira’s inner turmoil.

"Oh, tell him I’m fine," Mira replied hastily, her mind racing with thoughts of how she might quickly change into her clothes before Zamian arrived. The idea of facing him in such a state filled her with dread. Just as that thought solidified in her mind, a deep voice interrupted her plans.

"No need for that," Zamian said, stepping into the room with an air of authority that sent a shiver down her spine.

Mira’s heart skipped a beat as she froze in place. Nana bowed her head respectfully before retreating, closing the door behind her and leaving Mira alone with her husband. The atmosphere shifted, thickening with unspoken tension, and Mira felt a knot of anxiety tighten in her stomach.

"Could you please not come close?" Mira said, her tone low but edged with urgency, desperately trying to reclaim some semblance of control over the situation.

"And why is that? We are husband and wife. Sooner or later, I’ll see you," Zamian replied, his words uncomfortably true. Despite the intimacy of their relationship, the thought of him seeing her in such a vulnerable state filled her with unease. She felt as if the walls of the room were closing in around her, amplifying her discomfort.
