Chapter 52: Cute bunny prints
Mira could barely speak, let alone react to what had just happened. The car screeched to a halt in front of the mansion. It wasn’t their main residence but the one they stayed in for the charity gala. As the car stopped, a wave of relief washed over her. The tension from the confined space they had been in was finally behind them, and the fresh air of the night was a welcome change. The chauffeur seemed equally relieved, thankful that Zamian, being a man of his word, hadn’t asked him to stop mid-journey or leave the car. He had sensed the change of air something he would not believe his boss could do.
He began to feel a sense of respect for Mira as the way she managed to transform his stoic and cold boss persona.
Without wasting time, the chauffeur stepped out of the vehicle and opened the door for both Mira and Zamian. Mira blushed, realizing she was still seated on Zamian’s lap. The warmth of his body against hers made her heart race, and in an attempt to escape the growing tension between them, she muttered, "Let’s go," as she quickly slid off his lap and stepped out of the car. Zamian followed, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. He always seemed one step ahead of her, anticipating her every move, but tonight there was something different about the air between them.
As they entered the mansion, the atmosphere was a stark contrast to the tension in the car. The lights were soft, and the air smelled of freshly cooked food. Despite leaving the charity gala earlier than planned, dinner had already been prepared. The table was set, with delicate silverware and dishes laid out, ready for their quiet evening.
"I’ll go get changed," Mira said softly, breaking the silence. Zamian merely nodded, his eyes lingering on her a little longer than usual as they both began walking upstairs.
Once inside the bedroom, Mira’s smile deepened. She had been planning this moment for a while, though she wasn’t sure how Zamian would react. There was a playfulness in her voice as she turned to face him. "I want us to wear something special for tonight," she said, her words laced with excitement. She had been nervous about whether or not he would agree, but now that they were alone, she decided to take the plunge.
Zamian raised an eyebrow, clearly unsure of what she was hinting at. He stood there, silently trying to make sense of her words. Mira, seeing his confusion, giggled softly and moved toward the closet. From inside, she pulled out two sets of pajamas—one pink and one blue. They were covered in cute bunny prints, a stark contrast to the formal clothing they had been wearing all evening. She held them up with a small, mischievous grin.
"These are so cute, right?" she said, her eyes gleaming as she looked at the bunny designs. "I thought we could wear them tonight."
Zamian stared at the pajamas in disbelief. It was such a far cry from the serious, controlled atmosphere that usually surrounded them. He wasn’t sure how to react at first. The man known for his cold, emotionless demeanor was now being asked to wear bunny pajamas. For a moment, he stood there, stunned by the absurdity of the situation.
