Ignite the Sun

Chapter 103: Glue trap

Calen summoned a small fireball and let it hover above his palm, ready to detonate it at a moment’s notice.

According to Alfred the temple was made entirely out of stone, so letting out a bit of fire shouldn’t endanger its structural integrity.

He looked at his companions one last time, and plunges into the darkness of the temple.

The inside was... unpleasant, to say the least.

Everything was damp and the air smelled like rotten eggs, nevertheless Calen endured, waiting for the slightest sign of movement or any suspicious sounds.

He waited.

And waited.

But nothing was happening, no ambush, no trap - simply an empty room.

Very confused by the situation he walked out to explain what happened to the rest. His companions didn’t seem particularly bothered by the fact that he didn’t get attacked, but Alfred was another story - he had a deep frown and started pacing around, mumbling to himself.

"You look a bit too worried, sometimes plans just don’t work out, there’s no need to stress yourself out." Calen tried to calm him down.

"I know that." He sighed. "It’s just, if there’s no ambush then they might have something more complex in store for us - and if they are capable of this level of planning then they might have..."

Alfred shook his head.
