Chapter 347: Bread and Dagger (45)
My escape with Yuren went off smoothly, without a single hitch.
Perhaps if that damned Demonic Human could sprint at full speed, things would be different. But with elves piled high on his shoulders and arms, running on all fours was out of the question.
In other words, there’s no way he could keep up with our speed.
I raised my voice, hoping to prevent any more casualties.
“Retreat! Fall back!”
To the soldiers who were still locked in melee, my shout must have sounded utterly baffling. Especially so for the Yurdina troops.
No matter who looked at it, the battle was clearly tipping in Yurdina’s favor.
The elves were poorly armed and, to make matters worse, Senior Elsie and the Imperial Princess were blocking their escape at the rear. On top of that, the presence of the Saintess had boosted the morale of the Yurdina forces to new heights.
Even if they got wounded, they could almost certainly be saved.
