Chapter 335: Neither Enemy Nor Ally
While drinking, I asked Cha Seong-tae.
“How did you end up here? This isn’t the kind of fight someone like you should be in.”
Cha Seong-tae responded with a face that looked like he was about to spin a boring tale of hardship.
“It was a treacherous journey.”
“Cut the crap. Just give me the short version.”
Looking around at the Four Villains, Cha Seong-tae said,
“I’ll summarize. First, the Cult Leader got angry and went to Dongho, right?”
“He did.”
“Well, I went to help him.”
I was puzzled at the thought that this utterly useless guy had gone to help.
“And then?”
“I missed him by a hair. Dongho was already under the control of the Alliance members. I grabbed someone at random and asked about the Cult Leader’s whereabouts. They said he’d gone to the Martial Alliance, possibly to guard the Alliance Leader. I had already come all the way to Dongho, so turning back felt like a waste. I went on to the Martial Alliance.”
