Chapter 715: A Curtain Apart
(G: I don’t know what the author has against Huang Rong, but here ya go…)
Song Qingshu spread his hands and exclaimed, “I merely suggested that to make Great Hero Guo give up on chopping off the her—what other idea could I possibly have?”
“You know it yourself,” Huang Rong replied coldly with a snort.
“Alright, alright—I was just teasing you,” Song Qingshu laughed. “You’re overthinking it. In truth, I only wanted to indirectly show Great Hero Guo that I have an interest in Guo Fu. Would he really go so far as to chop off Fu’er’s hand, not giving face to me, his lifesaver?”
“Which father wouldn’t worry about his daughter? Do you really think Great Hero Guo would be willing to ch0p off little Fu’er’s hand? I’ve given him a way out, and with Yang Guo having clashed with you all this time, if you throw in a few more words of advice from the sidelines, the matter will be settled.”
“Besides, I was merely making a gesture. Do you honestly think I’m interested in that willful, capricious young lady? With so many charming confidantes around me, I’m even afraid I might inadvertently offend one of them—and get killed in the middle of the night.”
“Fu’er isn’t nearly as headstrong as you make her out to be,” Huang Rong said, her face instantly flushed with shame. “And besides, you shameless, lowdown b*stard—even if you do end up getting killed, fate will have its say.”
Drawing near with a drooling expression, Song Qingshu murmured, “If I really were killed, wouldn’t you be forced into widowhood?”
“Bah!” Huang Rong spat. “You’re not my husband.”
