Chapter 743: I Order, You Pay
"Right, you’re just like I imagined," Shen Dong said with an easy smile. "If you like it, eat more, and if you don’t, then don’t—no big deal. Why make it sound so serious? Plus, some people might have their reasons for not liking something. If they nearly throw up after just one bite, how can they keep eating? Why force yourself to eat something you dislike? Life is too short; we should just enjoy it to the fullest."
"I like this spicy chicken, so I’m going to have some more, and you should too. Didn’t you just try it and find it delicious? Hurry up and let’s finish it. I won’t allow any food to remain on this plate later; we’re on a clean plate mission."
"I believe you can handle it," he continued teasingly. "You can’t possibly be that weak, unable to finish this off. And if you really can’t, I’ll just have to call someone over to help us eat."
After Tang Yuchan finished speaking, she piled more spicy chicken and braised spare ribs into her bowl—these were the tastiest items here. Zhang Tao smiled as well; this girl was even more vibrant than he had imagined. She was like a little sun, lighting up his life. This was the feeling he had been looking for, perfect in every way. How wonderful it would be if it could always be like this.
Rather than sitting coldly by himself at the dining table consumed in his meal, such a life would be dreadfully dull. He preferred the constant chatter of someone by his side—that was true happiness. Now that he had experienced this joy, he couldn’t easily let it go.
While he was still in a daze, Tang Yuchan had already loaded his bowl with meat. She truly cared for his health, eagerly serving him as if worried he wouldn’t eat otherwise. He could hardly add more to his bowl, which looked like a small mountain of food.
"Okay, I already have so much here; you should eat some for yourself," Zhang Tao said helplessly. "Don’t put it all in my bowl. If you keep this up, I might gain several pounds. Just take care of your own meal, okay?"
Tang Yuchan pouted. She had a good habit of serving food to others—she used to do it all the time for her sister. Now, having someone resist her serving felt rather odd.
Still, she realized there might be some sense in not overloading his plate—loading more on would be too much—so she retracted her chopsticks and said, "I’m just used to it. Don’t worry about it; you eat first. If it’s not enough, I’ll help you out. My absolute favorite thing to do is serve others. Just enjoy the process. Don’t worry about anything else. I’m at your service, making sure you’re completely comfortable. You’ll want to invite me out again, won’t you? Coming out with me, you get to enjoy all these delicacies without lifting a finger. Where else can you find such treatment? Of course, it’s only when you’re with me. So what do you say, will we dine together again next time?"
