Shen Dong was unable to discern from the other’s sitting posture whether she was angry or not. He couldn’t just ask directly whether she was upset as it would surely be a trap that might provoke another outburst from her. It was frustrating how young girls nowadays could flip so easily.
Merely because he had not responded to one statement, that could become a reason for her to be angry, which was getting more and more absurd. There Kang Yue was, sitting there, waiting for Shen Dong to appease her, making her anger quite obvious—surely it was visible enough that one could tell she was upset, and if that was the case, she would definitely need to make a scene when she got home.
It was rare for her to go out shopping, yet she ended up thinking about another woman. Even just thinking about another woman should have been enough, but now, seeing the necklace and how he clearly didn’t compliment her was unacceptable.
She was now just waiting for him to come and apologize properly. If he didn’t apologize adequately, forgiving him wouldn’t come easily as she resisted the temptation to rationalize his behavior internally. This time, no matter what, she had to stay firm and not be swayed by just a few sweet words.

After spending so much, she realized how empty she still felt inside, especially after seeing his silence which hurt her pride even more.
"You misunderstand," Shen Dong finally said. "Let’s go home and I will explain everything properly, okay? We’re on the road now, please, let’s not argue. I can explain all this."
