Chapter 578: Worry
After closing the door, Kang Yue still felt a lingering fear and glanced over at the opposite side to see if anyone was following. If someone had been chasing, it would have been terrible. Thankfully, the other person stayed put, completely motionless. It seemed like there was no intention to come after Kang Yue for trouble, which was a huge relief. My little heart was about to stop from fright.
As Kang Yue spoke, she quickly reached out and patted her chest as if truly frightened and then suddenly remembered something. Immediately, she opened her phone to send WeChat messages to Tang Yuchan, explaining what had happened. If Kang Yue didn’t tell her sister, her sister would definitely question her later. Besides, she had no idea where her sister had gone off to last night.
When Shen Dong pulled her away, she worried about Yuchan being left alone—it certainly wasn’t safe. The first thing was to check whether she was even in the room. But Kang Yue guessed that if Yuchan was drunk, she wouldn’t wake up easily. Screw it, just send the message first.
Though conflicted, Kang Yue’s fingers flew across the keyboard quickly. She typed out a message but hesitated, unsure of how to send it.
"I’m telling you, I got drunk last night and mistook someone for another person. And I even hit on the guy, only to find out it was Shen Dong," said Kang Yue. But then feeling like this wasn’t a good way to put it, she deleted the message and typed out another one.
"Who understands, right? Why does this even happen? It’s like the universe is just messing with me. What other reason could there be for me going through such pain?" After sending this message, she deleted it, too. Forget it, discussing this on WeChat wasn’t going to help. What use was it to say so much? Instead, she decided to wait a little and have a face-to-face conversation where she could make herself clearer.
Otherwise, the more she tried to explain online, the more confused it would get. Hadn’t there been such incidents before? It was better to wait and talk about everything in person later. Only then could she express her feelings more profoundly. With a firm nod, Kang Yue convinced herself that this was indeed the right approach.
She decided to keep it simple for now, checking whether Yuchan had sobered up and to ensure her safety. Other issues could wait to be discussed.
"Have you sobered up yet? I have something really important to discuss with you. Why don’t you come over to my room now? Ah, never mind, it’s fine if you can’t. Once you’re sober, I’ll come to you."
After sending this message, Kang Yue felt very satisfied and waited patiently, but there was no response. Drifting off into a drowsy slumber, she fell asleep on the bed. The drunkenness from last night still lingering and she wasn’t sleeping comfortably, so she wanted to rest a bit more.
