Sunlight filtered through the leaves in the backyard, dappled on the ground.
Julia Land was holding a bag of duck feed, sprinkling it lightly on the ground.
The ducklings raised their heads, puffed out their chests, and waggled their butts excitedly as they fluttered over to eat.
Carefree.
James Thompson walked into the backyard, holding Julia Land’s phone in his hand, "You’ve got a call."
Julia Land took the phone, and James Thompson took over feeding the ducklings with the duck feed she’d been holding.
Julia Land looked at the caller ID; it was Assistant Scott, "Assistant Scott, what’s the matter?"
Over the phone came Michael Scott’s urgent voice, "Boss, there’s been a fire at 45 Hutong Road, and three people have died. There are videos circulating on various platforms that suggest the fire may have been related to our products."
Julia Land’s expression turned ugly instantly. She took a deep breath and said calmly, "Send someone to find out the specifics immediately, have the PR department maintain the company image, and minimize negative impacts as much as possible."
She hung up the phone, a wave of anger surging in her heart.
