Chloe Sullivan put down her soup bowl and sighed softly, hesitating before saying, "Madame Bell, I know a bit about the affair involving Julia Land, but the information might not be entirely accurate."
Madame Bell nodded, "Let’s hear it, I’m listening."
Chloe slowly said, "Julia was sent to an orphanage by her mother when she was a child."
"Later, her mother married into the Langston Family, which at the time had some assets, so her mother took her back from the orphanage to the Langston Family."
Madame Bell frowned in puzzlement, a hint of confusion in her tone, "How could her mother be so heartless as to send her child to an orphanage?"
Chloe’s gaze shifted slightly, complex expressions showing on her face.
She deliberately started with these pitiful details to lay the groundwork for speaking ill of her later on.
Chloe speculated purposefully, "Julia’s mother must have been compelled, and after her mother remarried and had a new family, she took her back."
Madame Bell shook her head, clearly disapproving, "That still doesn’t justify sending a child to an orphanage."
Chloe nodded in agreement and continued, "After graduating, Julia became Noah Quarter’s secretary and later married him. I heard she used some means."
She paused, observing Madame Bell’s expression, and continued, "Whether there were any tactics or if it was true, I’m not sure, they kept their marriage certificate a secret at that time. I don’t know how it eventually got leaked."
