James Thompson sat in a wheelchair, coldly looking at Assistant Hunter beside Cody Thompson.
Assistant Hunter awkwardly tugged at the corner of his mouth. He didn’t want to come either, but had no choice—the Thompson Group needed people.
He continued, using reason, "Mr. Thompson, the chairman truly has fallen ill. The Thompson Group needs you to come back and manage things."
"He has fallen ill? That’s rare," James scoffed.
Assistant Hunter pretended not to hear this unfilial remark.
James tersely said, "I won’t go; he’s so fond of the twins, let them manage the company."
Assistant Hunter felt like wiping his sweat.
How ridiculous—a child not yet a year old managing a company!
Jasper Winters saw Assistant Hunter out. The two men probed each other for information.
After Jasper sent Assistant Hunter away, he returned to the ward, "Our people haven’t found any trace of Miss Land today, and there’s another matter. Trevor Sullivan is waiting outside wanting to see you."
