Chapter 289: Apology
Sophia Fletcher guiltily lowered her eyes, "It wasn’t intentional. She took out a needle and was about to prick Lucas without saying a word, how could I possibly stand by?"
"That’s no excuse for you to humiliate Serena! When she comes back, you’d better give her a proper apology." Old Master Lane’s voice was cold and stern, his attitude unquestionable.
Sophia Fletcher felt even more aggrieved right away, but being accustomed to being strong-willed, no matter how turbulent her heart was, her face still maintained that cool detachment.
Not hearing her response, Old Master Lane grew even angrier and roared in a low voice, "Did you hear me?"
Sophia Fletcher was startled by his cold voice, instinctively looking toward Justin Lane.
She thought her husband would stand by her, yet Justin Lane actually echoed in agreement, "You really need to change that temper of yours."
Sophia Fletcher almost choked in disbelief, her eyes widening.
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Claire Lane entered with Serena Summers and Lucas Shaw, "Mom, quickly apologize to Serena."
Sophia Fletcher hadn’t expected even her own daughter to turn against her.
She was so angry that her chest heaved, a look of embarrassment surfacing on her face.
