Elena Ryan’s body tensed up sharply, and she turned her head in surprise, "Liam, you’re back?"
She retracted her foot, a flash of delight crossing the depths of her eyes.

A hint of unease flitted through Elena’s eyes, and she forced a smile, "No, nothing of the sort. Liam, come let mom have a look at you, why have you been leaving early and returning late these days? I haven’t seen you in a long time."
Liam Shaw replied impatiently, "The lab has been busy lately, I couldn’t find time to come home. Mom, I heard Lucas had a poisoning incident at Old Master Lawrence’s birthday banquet? How is he now?"
Mentioning Lucas Shaw, Elena Ryan’s face immediately darkened.
She scoffed coldly, saying spitefully, "It’s truly embarrassing, he ruined a perfectly good banquet hosted by Old Master Lawrence."
