Chapter 1780 - 1779: Don’t Make Enemies for Me
Gu Shuangshuang stood up from the chair, and Tian Niu hurriedly stepped forward to carefully help her up. His movements were cautious, oozing care and affection for Gu Shuangshuang in every detail.
"Let’s go to the bedroom."
The two women entered the bedroom, closed the door, and An Hao immediately started talking: "Shuangshuang, I have to say this—there should be trust between husband and wife! This suspicious, paranoid behavior isn’t like you at all!"
"I know I was wrong. Big sis, can you stop picking on me already?" Gu Shuangshuang blushed and lowered her head.
"It’s not about me picking on you. You need to realize how serious this is. In my opinion, keeping stability and unity in your home is going to be difficult."
"Why?"
An Hao pointed toward the door, her eyes conveying everything unsaid.
"You’re talking about my mom?"
"Exactly! Your mom is a big factor affecting the stability and harmony of your family." An Hao knew that casually talking about elders behind their backs was impolite, but for Gu Shuangshuang’s sake, she had to speak the truth. "In this situation, you’ve clearly been influenced by your mom! She’s always had preconceived notions about Tian Niu! Even though you’ve gotten married, she wouldn’t outright try to sabotage your marriage. But her subtle actions can still affect you indirectly, influencing your judgment. Just look at Tian Niu—he’s such an honest and straightforward guy. How could he possibly have done something improper with another woman? When you were dating, how much did he adore you? He didn’t even touch you until your wedding night! How could someone like him suddenly act so frivolously on the street?"
"Now that you put it this way, I really realize how wrong I was." Gu Shuangshuang finally understood how serious this issue was. "So, does this mean I need to find a way to get my mom to leave?"
"You said that, not me! I’m just giving you a little reminder." An Hao smirked. "Just remember this—the stability and unity of your family cannot be controlled by your mom!"
"Thank goodness for you. Otherwise, who knows how long Tian Niu and I would’ve continued bickering! If that happened, someone might really take advantage of the situation! You’re absolutely right—on this matter, I cannot listen to my mom! Her own marriage wasn’t even managed well!" Gu Shuangshuang finally saw the bigger picture and was relieved she didn’t let things spiral out of control.
"That’s all I’ve got to say! The rest is up to you!" An Hao chuckled. "Be clever about it—don’t end up making enemies for yourself!"
"Got it!"
Once their heart-to-heart conversation ended, An Hao stepped out of the room. Just then, Duan Aihua finished preparing lunch and warmly invited An Hao and Qin Jian to stay and eat.
"Auntie, thank you for your kind offer. We can’t today—we’ve still got kids at home! Next time, we’ll come by if we get the chance!" An Hao politely declined her invitation.
"Then let me see you out!" Duan Aihua untied her apron and prepared to escort them.
"Mom, you and Shuangshuang can eat. I’ll see them out!" Tian Niu said with a sheepish grin.
"Go on, then!" Duan Aihua gave Tian Niu an annoyed look and turned to scoop out rice from the pot.
Tian Niu escorted Qin Jian and An Hao out, walking them to the entrance of the building. As he watched them get into the car, he said, "Captain, Sister-in-law, thank you so much! If it weren’t for your help, I really don’t know how I’d have gotten through this!"
"No need to be so polite. Treat Shuangshuang well!" An Hao reminded him again.
"Exactly. If you two are doing well, it’ll save me a lot of trouble too." Qin Jian started the car and deftly turned it around.
