The thick wooden door creaked as it opened.

"You’re awake," the girl said excitedly upon seeing Qin Jian awaken, "That’s great. I was really worried you wouldn’t pull through."
"Thank you for saving us," Qin Jian forced out the words from his parched throat.
The girl smiled, and her eyes crinkled like crescent moons, "It’s my great honor to have saved PLA soldiers! I know you all must be heroes from the earthquake relief efforts."
"How did you know?" Qin Jian was also eager for more news and began to chat with the girl.
