"I didn’t make it!" Ruan Fangfang hung her bag on the coat rack and sat down next to Ma Mei, "That An Hao is really something else. She’s young but already married. Her husband used to be a battalion staff officer in the Northern Military Region! Who would dare mess with that status?"

As the two of them were talking, they heard the door, and Hen Zhiyuan, Ma Mei’s husband, came in, "Who are you gossiping about so loudly? I could hear you from the doorstep!"
"Uncle, you’re back!" Ruan Fangfang hastily stood up and helped Hen Zhiyuan take off his military coat, hanging it on the coat rack.
"Look at that brown-nosing!" Ma Mei couldn’t stand it anymore, "You little minx only have eyes for your uncle, never for me!"
"Why don’t you try getting her a position at the affiliated hospital?" Hen Zhiyuan glanced at his wife, "My niece is close to me, look how much you resent that."
"Of course, I’m also grateful to my aunt," Ruan Fangfang said with a grin and went back to stand next to Ma Mei to give her a shoulder rub.
Her mother had died early, and it was Ma Mei and Hen Zhiyuan who had raised her.
Even though her aunt and uncle were good to her, Ruan Fangfang always felt like she was living under someone else’s roof.
So, she took every opportunity to show her best side and curry favor with them to secure a better future for herself.
