Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1496: Location

"We didn’t have time to find him... the dragon god found him somehow and then attacked him," Sealyn explained. "Before long, the spirits and the mana of that world went crazy, and then he appeared before us. He thanked us for becoming a bait for him and it was because of that that he wouldn’t kill us immediately. He said that he would only take half of the forces as test subjects. Before we could do anything, half of us lost consciousness."

"... Who are the ones who lost their souls?" Rain asked.

"... It appears that the dragon god choose the ones who had low magic resistance," Seadrei replied. "That is why he was so fast to take down half of us."

"All of them were people that didn’t have access to the paths system for long," Roan added. "As much as that is vexing, it isn’t the worst of the problems."

"I know... the planets are moving toward the center of the machine gods territory," Rain said. "The final three are on the move... they want to keep all the places that we can hide within their territory in order to be able to fight us with their full power."

Rain wondered how that was possible, even though it was logical... moving all the planets in the Galaxy should be just plain impossible... perhaps Loks would have enough Mastery of that in the future, but it would require a stupid ammount of energy. However, Rain soon came up with another explanation.

According to the Big Bang theory, the universe began as an infinitely dense singularity from which all matter and energy subsequently expanded outward in a colossal explosion. As the universe continued to expand, galaxies, stars, and planets formed, eventually giving rise to the vast and diverse cosmos we see today.

With this in mind, Rain speculated that Lonos may be utilizing the aspect of time in a manner akin to reversing the cosmic clock, so to speak. Just as the Big Bang marked the moment when all matter in the universe was concentrated together before rapidly dispersing, Lonos’s manipulation of time could be causing all matter to regress to its original, primordial state of unity.

In essence, Lonos’s powers may be acting as a cosmic rewind button, reversing the flow of time to bring about a convergence of all matter back to its initial state. This would explain the unusual phenomena witnessed by Rain and his companions, as well as the unsettling implications of Lonos’s intentions.
