Chapter 1449: Praise
When Hilo realized that the Rain he had attacked was a fake, he was suddenly attacked from behind with an even more powerful barrage of punches... his body was pushed several more meters, and the dimension shook in response to it since the surprise and the damage disrupted Hilo’s focus. In the end, the fake Rain begins to dissipate since he is just a spatial distortion.
"Another one of Lok’s skills... it seems that you are dead set on using his knowledge agaisnt me."
Rain’s unwavering determination was palpable, emanating from his every pore as he steadfastly ignored Hilo’s words. It was a deliberate choice, a refusal to be swayed by the figure before them. And yet, it wasn’t the silence that irked Hilo this time; it was the expression etched upon Rain’s face.
There was something unsettling about the defiance in Rain’s eyes, a stubborn resolve that seemed to cut through the very fabric of reality of that dimension. It was a look that spoke of defiance in the face of overwhelming odds, a refusal to yield even in the darkest of moments. And for the first time, Hilo found himself unnerved by it.
It wasn’t just the lack of words that grated on Hilo’s nerves. It was as if he was daring him to try and break his spirit, to bend him to his will through sheer force of presence alone. And though Hilo was accustomed to manipulating others with his words, he found himself at a loss when faced with such unyielding determination.
"This is probably the most interesting part of this situation... let’s see how much you can endure... how far your willpower alone can make you keep standing."
Hilo moved his arms and then bombarded Rain with the blasts of the void cannon. Rain teleported from one side to the other without flinching and blinking and waited a couple of seconds until all of his wounds were healed.
When he was ready again, Rain used Origin Punch after he appeared in front of Hilo... Rain’s arms blurred as if they were made of static as they blurred and attacked Hilo. His face was sent from one side to the other, but he still didn’t stop using the void blast on Rain... eventually, Rain was forced to move away, but at least the health bar of Hilo kept shaking for a while... The damage this time had been massive. However, Rain paid a high price as well... There was a literal hole in his stomach that was bleeding.
A wound of that level was supposed to be mortal... but Rain ignored the pain and soon stopped the bleeding and began to repair the wound while he was looking at the machine god.
"I must admit, for such a simple life form, you are quite interesting. Killing you now would be easy, but then I wouldn’t be able to learn the real limits of your species. Even if it is a bit wasteful, I will fight you for a while longer."
