Chapter 1440: Black hole
"I guess he likes to collect stuff," Rain said.
"This isn’t time to joke around... I am not effective against these creatures," Elisabetha said. "At this rate, everyone will have to destroy hundreds of those machines in order to win this battle."
That will be difficult, but if they survive that... it would be the same as acquiring strength that would take months, if not years, to obtain. With that in mind, Rain couldn’t help but lured a bit by the promise of experience. He also wanted to kill as many of those things as possible in order to increase his chances of victory... even if by only 0.1 percent.
In the end, Rain stopped to think for a moment and then considered his chances... eventually, he had an idea and began to work on it. Everyone wanted to know what he was doing, but they couldn’t tell since he wasn’t showing any skill being activated, at least not the skills that they could see...
In any case, Rain put the plan in motion after revising all the places where he found that massive army of dark sentinels, and after that, he resumed his journey toward the center of the enemy territory.
Despite the apparent success of Rain’s advance, a nagging sense of unease was in the back of their mind. The smooth progression of events seemed almost too perfect, raising suspicions that the machine god orchestrating these developments was luring him into a carefully laid trap. The feeling of being led down a path filled with hidden dangers worried Rain’s senses, prompting him to remain vigilant and wary of potential pitfalls.
Moreover, Rain couldn’t shake the unsettling notion that his actions were being silently observed and even encouraged by the other machine gods. The prospect of destroying one of their allies appeared to elicit a subtle sense of satisfaction from these entities. While such possibilities remained speculative, the possibility that the other machine gods were manipulating events for their own benefit painted a picture of cunning and shrewdness.
The realization that he might be a mere pawns in a larger game orchestrated by the machine gods left Rain feeling both apprehensive and deeply unsettled. The notion that their every move could be part of a grander scheme, with motives and consequences beyond their comprehension, showed the complexity and intrigue of the machinations unfolding around them.
