Chapter 901: Tonight, the Empress Won’t Hold Back
Unable to let even a second go to waste, Asmodeus took flight.
His powerful blood wings cut through the air, flinging his body flawlessly onto the main palace ramparts. He felt the cold stone beneath his bare feet as the marble cracked from the sheer force of his landing.
"As subtle as ever."
Asmodeus lifted his head.
Serena stood beneath the archway leading into the upper palace halls, or rather, their shared bedroom, with one hand resting against the frame while the other gathered the edge of her long military gown.
’Serena?’
So she had been waiting.
The sight immediately made him suspicious.
Her robes were unmistakably formal at first glance, black and silver fabric fitted closely around her waist before falling elegantly around her legs. Yet the longer he looked, the more obvious it became that this was nothing like the conservative attire she normally wore during council meetings.
The neckline plunged considerably lower.
Silver embroidery curled along her breasts like climbing vines, deliberately drawing his eyes towards the exposed swell above the fabric. At the same time, the dress split high along one thigh beneath the outer coat.
Asmodeus slowly narrowed his eyes.
"...You changed."
Serena glanced down at herself.
"Did I?"
"You were wearing something completely different ten minutes ago."
"Oh~ hmmph... It’s nice that you noticed."
Her lips curved faintly.
"Perhaps I felt like dressing properly for my husband."
Asmodeus folded his wings behind his back and approached.
"I thought you were angry."
"I was."
"Were?"
Serena turned away before he reached her and started walking through the open hallway.
"Perhaps I calmed down."
Her hips swayed beneath the gown, an unnatural and deliberate bounce that drew Asmodeus’s gaze for several seconds before he snapped out of his lustful glare and followed behind her with a shrug of his shoulders.
’She planned this...’
The sudden realisation that almost everything was her little scheming amused him.
He suffered the dramatic departure and irritation from the moment she stormed away from the Grey Tower. She had turned the entire situation around before he even realised what she was doing.
Yet, he didn’t mind.
’It helped me wake up, at least.’
"Oi Serena."
"Mhm?"
"Stop swaying your ass like that..."
She glanced backwards over one shoulder, silver eyes filled with innocence that fooled absolutely nobody.
"Like what?"
"You know exactly what you’re doing."
"How strange."
She continued walking.
"I thought my husband liked my body... I could swear he couldn’t resist this little ass of mine."
"...I do."
"Then there shouldn’t be a problem."
Asmodeus sighed.
The palace was mostly silent at this hour, only distant guards and servants occupying the lower floors. Serena led him deeper through the private wing rather than towards their shared chambers.
That made him even more suspicious.
"Where are we going?"
"Our room, of course?"
"..."
Everything Serena did or said was perfect.
This was the woman he’d first met through strange visions, the ethereal fox that kept him on his toes... always awaiting her next appearance. To his surprise, Serena continued walking, but her shoulders trembled faintly.
She was trying not to laugh.
’This woman... is it that fun for you to play like this?!’
Asmodeus caught up and slipped one arm around her waist, pulling her against his side.
"Serena."
"I’m considering it."
Her hand settled over his chest.
"Maybe I should remain furious."
"Why?"
"So you keep chasing me."
The way she looked up at him revealed her bare amusement, and yet it disappeared in seconds, turning into a sincere stare.
"I really liked it."
"Liked what?"
"You chasing after my ass for once... It made my stomach feel all tingly."
Her voice became quieter.
"Normally, after telling everyone that I was the one you loved most, you would’ve stayed with Mei. You could’ve gone to Lumina, Yumiko, Velvet... anyone." Serena’s fingers tightened, sinking into the soft flesh above his muscles. "But you followed me."
’Ah...’
Asmodeus stared down at the small fox clinging to his chest.
"...Well, of course I did."
"Heh... you speak so confidently, but I know if this were the past, you’d be enjoying a night with the others right now!"
She smiled softly before placing her forehead against his chest and slowly narrowing her eyes into thin slits.
"That’s why I’m not really angry, not when you finally came to me."
He squeezed Serena, using both arms around her back; the feeling of her soft tails wrapping around them brought a sense of comfort and warmth that he’d taken for granted for the past four years.
"So this whole thing was an act?"
"Not all of it."
"How much?"
Serena’s smile became mischievous again.
"Enough."
Before he could answer, she slipped from beneath his arm and pushed open a pair of dark wooden doors.
Warm golden light spilt into the corridor.
Her private chambers were far more luxurious than Asmodeus expected, filled with dark silk, silver ornaments and old paintings that looked as though they had existed long before the current palace.
But his attention remained fixed upon Serena.
It made him painfully aware of how little time he’d spent in their shared bedroom and the loneliness Serena must’ve endured.
"Hmph." With a playful snort, she stepped inside and removed her military coat, tossing it to the side as she turned away from him with a wide grin.
Asmodeus froze at the sight, his throat dry... before filling with saliva.
The gown beneath it was significantly worse.
’Wow.’
Thin black material hugged her figure like a second skin, the exposed back dipping almost to her waist while silver straps crossed between her shoulders.
Serena glanced over her shoulder.
"What’s wrong?"
"...Nothing."
"Liar."
Her hands slowly gathered her silver hair and pulled it over one shoulder. With a series of skilful movements, she fastened it up into a high ponytail, revealing her pale yet alluring neck and the smooth skin of her back.
"Oh my, you’re staring at me like a starving wolf, Asmodeus..."
"You’re the one dressed like a clueless little lamb!"
"Mhm, obviously~"
She turned to face him.
"I waited centuries for you, watched you fall in love with other women, watched you become someone completely different from the frightened fool I first knew..."
Her expression softened.
"And tonight you finally told me something I’ve wanted to hear... maybe I thought you’d never say something that decisive out loud, and so~ I decided to seduce you, to ensure that you can never change your mind."
Asmodeus stepped inside and closed the doors behind him.
"So you dressed like this...?"
"Well~ I did consider wearing nothing at all beneath that coat... You do seem to love that kind of thing, honey."
"...Serena!"
"Fufu, what’s with those bloodthirsty... hungry eyes? Are you that horny to see your little wife dressing up for you...? Well, I am still a goddess after all."
She stepped closer with each word, her eyes never leaving Asmodeus for a second, while he stood almost trembling with an intense hunger.
"And apparently..."
Her fingertips traced slowly across his abdomen.
"...your favourite wife at that..."
Asmodeus caught her wrist.
Serena’s smile widened as she let her body follow his will. There was no resistance or complaint. She leaned ever closer to make things easier, pressing her body against his with a gleeful expression.
He couldn’t control the swirl of intense emotions, speaking in a lowered voice.
"Don’t tempt me."
"Why not?"
"Because you know what happens."
"I do, and that’s exactly why..."
Serena’s silver eyes suddenly brightened.
The air inside the room thickened as divine energy rolled from her body in soft waves. Her pale skin darkened slightly beneath the transformation, while silver hair slowly bled into midnight black.
Her pupils narrowed while several dark tails slowly emerged behind her, swaying through the warm air.
She’d entered her abyssal form.
’But why?’
To Asmodeus, this form was one for combat... but for Serena, it was more like releasing her inner desires, her true self.
A beast in a goddess’s form.
The restrained elegance of the Empress vanished almost instantly, replaced by something far more feral.
Serena inhaled deeply as she looked directly at him.
"Mmm..."
Her tongue brushed across her lips.
"That’s better, so fucking delicious..."
Asmodeus felt his pulse jump.
Serena stepped forward, wrapping both arms around his neck while her black tails curled possessively around his waist and thighs.
"Now..."
Her voice dropped into a husky whisper.
"Are you still going to pretend you came here just to apologise?"
Asmodeus didn’t answer.
For several seconds, he merely stared into those darkened eyes while her tails tightened around his body, feeling the difference between this Serena and the woman who stood proudly beside his throne.
’Fuck...’
The woman before him wasn’t hiding anything.
Her jealousy, desire, possessiveness...!
Everything Serena normally buried beneath the dignity of a goddess and Empress seemed completely exposed.
His blood wings slowly unfolded behind him.
Serena’s smile widened.
"Oh?"
One of her tails slipped around his wrist, guiding his hand towards her waist while another curled possessively around his thigh.
"I thought the mighty Demon Emperor had something to say."
Asmodeus finally grasped her hips, tightly squeezing the soft flesh between his thick fingers. The force stole a sigh from her lips as Serena inhaled sharply, yet rather than retreating, her body softened against him.
"You wanted me to chase you."
"Mhm."
"You dressed like a slut because you wanted me to desire you."
"Perhaps~"
Her fluffy black ears twitched with each of his words.
"And now you’re using that form because you want me to completely lose control... and devour you...!"
Serena pressed her forehead against his, her lips almost touching his own.
"No, darling."
Her breath was hot, with a sweet scent which made his blood boil.
"I used this form because tonight..."
She squeezed him tightly between her tails as her eyes flashed red.
"...I don’t want to control myself either."
