Chapter 211 - 211: Guess Who's Jealous?
Shaking his head in amusement, Yang Chen headed to the bathroom. He washed his face, brushed his teeth, and ran a hand through his still-damp hair.
He then focused his mind for a moment and teleported straight to Nyx's mansion.
When he arrived, he found himself in the familiar quiet sitting room.
Nyx was already there, seated gracefully at the low tea table. She wore a simple black silk robe that clung lightly to her figure, and a steaming cup of coffee waited in front of her.
Yang Chen settled onto the cushion beside her, picking up his own cup. He took a slow sip, savoring the rich, bitter taste, then turned to look at her properly.
"Are you really sure, Nyx?" he asked, his voice calm but carrying a trace of concern.
He studied her face for a second before adding, "Did the bonding ritual stop abruptly?"
Nyx nodded once.
She lifted her cup to her lips, took a small sip, and only then answered. "I don't know the reason behind it, but the ritual stopped all of a sudden."
"Is that so?" Yang Chen muttered. His brows furrowed slightly in puzzlement.
If the ritual had truly been left incomplete, as she claimed, then how had both he and Sun Linhua awakened entirely new talents?
He now possessed the ability to use telepathy, something he hadn't even suspected he could do before today.
And Linhua had unlocked the full potential of her Golden Flame.
No matter how many times he turned the facts over in his mind, no logical explanation presented itself. Frustrated, he pushed the confusing thoughts aside for the moment and glanced at Nyx again.
This time he noticed it more clearly, the faint air of melancholy that clung to her like a thin shadow. Her usual sharp, confident aura felt dulled, almost fragile.
'Is she still jealous about me and Sun Linhua forming the Eternal Bond?' The possibility crossed his mind, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
But he dismissed the idea immediately. Nyx wasn't the type to sulk over something like that without saying so directly.
Instead of guessing any longer, he decided to ask her outright.
"Why do you look like that?" Yang Chen asked gently. He placed his hand on her thigh, warm and steady through the thin silk of her robe.
Setting his coffee cup down on the table, he turned his body fully toward her. His eyes searched hers with quiet concern.
"It's just… Master," Nyx began. Her voice faltered, and she hesitated, clearly struggling to find the right words.
When she had activated her System Eyes earlier to check on both Yang Chen and Sun Linhua, she had seen the new talents they had awakened.
She had been mildly surprised to discover that the gyaru had unlocked the true power of the Golden Flame.
But what truly shocked her to her core came next. On Yang Chen's status panel, one of his existing talents had evolved all the way to EX-rank, a tier she hadn't even known existed until that very moment.
Logically, she should have felt happy, even proud. Her master had grown stronger again. Yet the instant the thought entered her mind that she might one day fall behind him, a quiet wave of dejection had settled over her heart.
"It's not like you to hesitate about something, Nyx" Yang Chen said softly. Sensing that something deeper was bothering her, he reached out and gently pulled her into his arms. She let herself be drawn in without resistance, resting against his chest.
Yang Chen raised her chin carefully with one finger so he could look straight into her eyes. "What made you upset?" he asked in the same gentle tone. "Did I do something wrong?"
"It's not like that, Master," Nyx replied quickly. She shook her head, her long hair brushing against his shoulder.
After another brief moment of hesitation, she finally found the courage to speak.
When she finished explaining, Yang Chen's expression turned completely dumbfounded. He stared at her in genuine surprise.
He had never imagined that Nyx, who had always carried the unshakable pride of being the most talented genius in the entire underworld, would ever worry about falling behind him in the future.
But after thinking it over for a few seconds, he realized it actually made perfect sense.
In his own opinion, not every SSS-rank talent carried the same weight or potential. He had only managed to keep pace with Nyx after awakening two of them.
Now, with one of his talents having evolved to the mysterious EX-rank and a brand-new, still unawakened SSS-rank talent waiting in the wings, he had likely pulled ahead of her for the first time.
Even more shocking was the revelation that SSS-rank wasn't the absolute ceiling. EX-rank existed beyond it, and even someone as knowledgeable as Nyx hadn't been aware of that fact until today. That single truth opened up a whole new layer to the world they lived in. There was still so much more for him, for Nyx, and for everyone in his family to discover and explore.
But those larger questions weren't what occupied Yang Chen's mind right now.
What mattered most was the woman in his arms. Her confidence had clearly taken a hit after losing the title she had worn so proudly for so long. If he brushed this off too casually or offered empty comfort, it would only deepen the wound.
"FuFu~" Nyx let out a soft, melodic laugh when she saw how hard he was thinking, brows knitted in concentration as he tried to find the perfect words.
"You don't have to worry about me, Master," she said warmly. She placed her hand gently over his, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm okay now."
"Really?" Yang Chen asked. He still sounded a little stunned, searching her face for any sign that she might be hiding her true feelings to spare him worry.
"Yes," Nyx answered. Her expression turned serious as she met his doubtful gaze head-on. "I was just a little sad, but that's all."
She paused, then a slight, playful smile curved her lips. "Besides, didn't you say our talents can evolve if we continue to dual cultivate together?"
"We just have to have lots of sex for my talent to evolve," she added. Her eyes narrowed mischievously as she hugged his arm tighter against her chest, pressing herself closer.
"Haha, of course, Nyx," Yang Chen replied. He broke into a wide smile, though inside he felt a rush of flustered heat.
Judging by the glint in her eyes and the way she emphasized "lots," he knew without a doubt that she was completely serious. And somehow, that both relieved him and made his pulse quicken at the same time.
Yang Chen's body still burned with heat even after round after round with Sun Linhua. His cock began to get hard, pulsing insistently against his thigh as he caught his breath.
His gaze locked onto Nyx.
Just like him, her eyes locked onto him with raw, unspoken hunger. Those eyes weren't just looking, they were begging. Pleading. Demanding to be bred, filled, claimed until she couldn't walk straight.
There was no way in hell he could refuse her.
"You are really a temptress," Yang Chen said, voice low and rough with desire.
A slow, predatory smile spread across his face as he went for a kiss. Nyx's lips curved into a wicked, delighted grin. Her eyes narrowed happily, pupils dilating like a cat in heat.
She leaned forward to meet him halfway, tilting her head just enough to offer her mouth.
He started with a kiss, deep, possessive, and unhurried.
His hand slid to the back of her neck, fingers threading through her hair to hold her in place while his tongue pushed past her lips and claimed every corner of her mouth.
Nyx responded instantly, passionately, moaning softly into the kiss as her own hands roamed up his chest, nails dragging lightly over his skin.
She tasted like sin. Yang Chen groaned against her lips, cock twitching hard between them.
He broke the kiss only long enough to murmur against her mouth, "You've been waiting for this, haven't you?"
Nyx's breath hitched. "Every second you were with her… I was aching for you, Master." Her voice came out husky, almost a purr. "I need you inside me. Now."
That was all the invitation he needed.
