Chapter 48: Deal
We see that Adam is sitting in his apartment. It was late at night but the small room was brightly lit. At this time the manager Kim was sitting with him.
Kim was on the floor surrounded by papers and spreadsheets. He was working intensely his focus entirely on the documents spread out on Adam’s small coffee table.
Adam looked at him. "Do you know how late it has become?" he asked his voice a mixture of amusement and impatience. "And what are you doing at my apartment at this hour?"
The manager who was sitting on the floor and writing many things on the table looked up. He had dark circles under his eyes but his expression was energized.
"This is my compulsion," he said with a sigh.
"What can I do? I need your help in this. The numbers are big Adam. Very big."
After hearing this Adam got up. He went to his small kitchen and came back with a plate of leftover food. He put the plate on the table where the manager was working pushing aside a stack of legal documents.
"Tell me what’s the update?" he said.
Kim looked at the food gratefully. "Although in the beginning I was very surprised by your decision," he said between bites.
"When you gave such a big management post to a school kid, Smith. I thought you had gone crazy. But then I studied the structure that he has provided for the bank. The organizational chart. The business plan. The five-year growth strategy. And I can’t help but praise that boy. He is a very talented boy. A genius even."
