Chapter 32: Plan
Adam looked at the boy who had handed him the attendance sheet. "Thank you," he said. "By the way what is your name?"
The boy had black hair and a handsome face. "My name is Leon," he said. "And I am the class representative of Class 1C."
Adam was a little surprised to hear this. "Leon," he said. "If you have any problem you can come to me."
Leon was very surprised by this. He thought Until now this new teacher was telling everyone not to bother him. And now he is calling me. His intentions don’t seem right. He felt a sense of unease.
Adam was completely unaware of what Leon was thinking. He just smiled at him a friendly smile. Seeing this Leon became even more scared. He quickly left thinking Why am I suddenly getting a strange feeling? As if I have misunderstood something.
Adam went back to his office and sat down. Just then the door to his office opened. Isabella came in. She was smiling. "So Mr. Adam," she said. "How was your first day? Your first period?"
Adam looked at Isabella’s smiling face. He took a deep breath. He forced a smile. "It went very well," he said. "The children are very good."
Isabella smiled. "Didn’t I tell you?" she said. "The children of our school are very disciplined and good. In fact our school children always bring back some trophy or the other."
Adam had no urge to speak to Isabella. He was exhausted. He was stressed. He simply wanted to be alone. But he understood he needed to be courteous. He simply nodded and smiled.
He hoped she would leave quickly. He had a lot to think about. He had a lot to plan. He had an empire to establish. He could not accomplish that while making small chat with an adorable art teacher.
