Chapter 4: Crypt Awakens
Lucas Nightveil stood before the blackened crypt entrance, feeling the vibrations of dark power flowing from within the ancient structure. The air around him felt heavy, as if reality itself were distorted by the presence of whatever lay within.
"David," he whispered to the ghoul standing stiffly beside him. "Stand guard outside. If anyone comes, kill them slowly."
David Chen nodded, eyes flashing with supernatural light. "Orders received, Master."
Lucas stepped through the doorway, feeling a bone-chilling chill assault his skin. The crypt walls were covered with carvings that moved in his peripheral vision—symbols that seemed alive, breathing, and whispering in a language he didn’t recognize but somehow understood.

[ENTITY PRESENCE DETECTED]
[CORRUPTION LEVEL: SEVERE]
[MENTAL RESISTANCE: REQUIRED]
The first corridor stretched out like a giant, gaping throat. Lucas’s every step echoed with an unearthly sound, as if the stones beneath his feet were responding to his presence. The Skeleton Warriors that followed him moved into defensive formation, their bones creaking in an almost musical rhythm.
At the end of the corridor, Lucas found the first chamber. Its walls were covered with murals depicting scenes of carnage—dark figures tearing apart human bodies, drinking their blood, and dancing atop piles of corpses. But what caught his attention most was the altar in the center of the chamber.
The blood altar.
The structure was made of the same black stone as the crypt, but its surface was covered with intricately patterned grooves. The grooves were still wet with slowly flowing blood, as if the altar had been in use recently.
