Leng Yichen watched Bai Yiran, watched her tears fall, and reached out his hand to wipe them away, but she coldly avoided him.
"I’m not trying to prove anything. I just want you to know how treacherous society can be, not everyone is what they appear to be."
"Oh really! You’re not what you appear to be either!" With that, Bai Yiran turned and got into a taxi, telling the driver her grandmother’s address.
On the way, Bai Yiran’s phone kept ringing. They were all calls from Leng Yichen, but she rejected them all.
The taxi driver glanced at the rearview mirror and said to Bai Yiran, "Young lady, there’s a Maybach following us."
Bai Yiran turned around; it was Leng Yichen’s car. Just then, his call came in again, and she picked it up. On the other end, Leng Yichen’s slightly anxious voice came through, "Girl, stop this. Let’s go home and talk, okay?"
"I don’t want to go back now, nor do I want to see you. I need to think this over. I feel like our decision to get married might have been too hasty. Our worlds are different, everything is different."
"What do you mean?" Leng Yichen’s voice turned cold.
"I mean, I need to really consider our marriage, that’s it! Don’t call me again! And stop following me!"
Bai Yiran hung up the phone, and when she looked back, Leng Yichen’s car had already pulled over to the side of the road and was no longer following her.
Turning around, Bai Yiran just felt so exhausted, she just wanted to go home and sleep, without thinking about anything.
