Chapter 36: Blurring the Line Between Dream and Reality
Leng Yichen’s voice was gentle, especially pleasant to Bai Yiran’s ears. Bai Yiran opened her drowsy eyes and was met with Leng Yichen’s flawless face, "How did I fall asleep?" Bai Yiran rubbed her eyes and got out of the car with Leng Yichen.
As soon as she got out, perhaps due to the alcohol or some other reason, Bai Yiran felt her legs unsteady, and she stumbled.
Leng Yichen quickly caught her, his long arm firmly supporting Bai Yiran’s petite body.
In the darkness, Leng Yichen’s eyes appeared particularly bright and profound. He looked at Bai Yiran with a captivating gaze, a gentle smile on his lips, and lightly pecked her on the lips.
Somehow, after that kiss, Bai Yiran felt even more intoxicated.
So intoxicated that she couldn’t tell if she was dreaming or awake, and throughout the night, Leng Yichen’s figure was active in her mind.
The next morning, Bai Yiran’s face was still flushed when she came out for breakfast. She had thought for a long time about what to say to Leng Yichen when she saw him, but the more she thought, the more confused she became, so she just headed down.
"Good morning, Sister Liu..." Bai Yiran greeted Sister Liu first, avoiding Leng Yichen.
"Good morning! Hey? Yiran, why is your face so red? Are you running a fever?" Sister Liu made a gesture to feel Bai Yiran’s forehead.
Bai Yiran quickly shook her head, "No... I’m not feverish."
As Bai Yiran spoke, she glanced at Leng Yichen and found him watching her with a smile, which made her face even redder.
"Alright, let’s have breakfast," Leng Yichen suggested, probably realizing that if he didn’t say something, Bai Yiran might die of embarrassment.
