Chapter 53: Antibiotics
"Uncle Yang, what kind of anti-inflammatory medicine is it? Can you write down the name for me?" said Beisitian.
Although Yang Wulang still didn’t believe Beisitian was a Chinese medicine practitioner like her father, seeing her demonstration made him realize she wasn’t completely inexperienced in the field, so he wrote down the anti-inflammatory medicine for her.
"This anti-inflammatory medicine is quite expensive." Yang Wulang sighed, thinking about how Luo Er’s family couldn’t even afford it if they sold everything.
He thought for a while and walked out of the room.
Yang Wulang pulled Ma aside and whispered a few words.
Ma immediately widened her eyes and shook her face. "No way!"
"You’ve seen the situation here. Without the anti-inflammatory medicine, this child might not make it," said Yang Wulang.
Ma shook her head. "You’re a doctor; with the injections and stitches just now, at most, we won’t take any money. That’s our good deed. Now you want to lend money, and the anti-inflammatory medicine costs over ten bucks; with their family’s situation, how could they pay it back!"
"But we can’t just sit and watch them die, can we?"
"We’ve been working hard all afternoon without even a sip of water and not charging a penny. What more do you want to call it rescue!" Ma felt that they had done enough as a couple.
Lend money?
Even though their family had some savings, ten bucks wasn’t a big sum of money, but it wasn’t a small one either. With Luo Er’s family’s situation, the money would just go to waste. Whose money isn’t hard-earned, saved penny by penny!
