Chapter 44: Delivering Puppies
Seeing that just a few more turns and she’ll be able to see the edge of the North Slope, Beisitian helplessly pauses her steps once more, looking at the big wolfdog, panting heavily with its tongue hanging out but still stubbornly following her. She really is a bit exasperated.
The wolfdog, seeing Beisitian turn back, whines softly, its eyes surprisingly carrying a pleading look.
Beisitian looks up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, "Following me is useless, I don’t know how to deliver babies, let alone puppies!"
That’s right, this wolfdog wants her to help deliver puppies!
This wolfdog is indeed very smart. It knows that although it has barely survived, its severe injuries have not yet healed, and it lacks the strength to give birth. But it just happens to be the time for delivery, and Beisitian is the only human who can help it, especially since this human had just saved it!
Beisitian estimated that it was probably the fight with the bear that triggered an early response than expected!
"Aowoo~~"
The wolfdog’s voice was very low, with strong pleading, at least that’s how Beisitian felt when she heard it.
The wolfdog, already exhausted, slowly huddled on the ground and no longer had the strength to stand up.
Seeing its drooping eyelids, hot air spewing from its nose, Beisitian’s heart softened, but then she remembered that she indeed couldn’t help with delivery. In her previous and current life, she was a maiden who had never dealt with such a matter.
With a ruthless heart, Beisitian turned and left, hearing no sounds following her, meaning that the wolfdog no longer had the strength to continue.
"Giving birth to puppies is something you’ll have to do on your own!" Beisitian mumbled to herself as she walked, but her pace gradually slowed down and soon she halted on the spot.
