Chapter 31 Overprotection
Clara Bennett expressed surprise: "Is that true? I was too young at the time to remember."
She spoke very sincerely, as if truly hearing about this for the first time.
Charles Bennett chimed in to remind her: "And when you were fifteen, a talent show event approached our family to collaborate on their platform, and you participated. The director thought you might be a member of the girl group, but you said you didn’t like being talked about and thus turned down the opportunity."
He wanted Clara to realize her previous avoidance behaviors.
After hearing this, Clara’s expression seemed a bit strained.
She really had no recollection of this, and felt somewhat embarrassed, as these memories indeed existed but were buried deep in her heart.
James Bennett directly pointed out the key issue: "More importantly, do you know how to perform? Although you studied at an art academy, you didn’t specialize in drama performance; now it’s too late to change majors."
His tone remained indifferent and realistic.
Clara argued: "Don’t insult art; we call it boundless art. Photography is also a related field and can contribute to the performing arts career."
She spoke firmly to defend her stance, unwilling to easily give up this opportunity.
Edward Bennett rubbed his temples, his tone carrying a hint of fatigue and helplessness: "Clara, we understand you may have experienced some special events recently that have affected you, but we sincerely hope you can calm down. The acting world isn’t as easy to succeed in as you might imagine. It has many you cannot see trials and challenges, not something you can handle with just passion."
Charles Bennett added, with genuine concern in his eyes: "And you must be honest; since childhood, you haven’t been someone particularly interested in acting. Suddenly saying you want to act now makes us worry this is a momentary impulse. Shooting a TV drama is really hard work, requiring not just talent but long-term effort and dedication."
