Chapter 6: The instincts of a beast.
It’s night. Everyone is asleep except for Amari. The girl wakes up to a noise coming from Amari’s cage, she couldn’t see what was happening because it was dark. She decides to go and observe closer to see properly.
’’What are you doi-’’ The girl suddenly stops talking.
She holds her hand over her mouth from the shock, she doesn’t know whether she should scream or puke from the disgusting scenery she’s witnessing.
Amari was cutting his guts open with the sharp object.
She couldn’t find herself to look away, but she wanted to throw the food she had earlier.
Amari kept ripping his stomach open and enduring the pain. Blood kept gushing out and his intestine started to come out. He started ripping harder and blood spat out uncontrollably, but he kept on going. The finally threw up when she saw the organs falling of his stomach.
Afterwards he put his hand in and searched for something. He seems to be in excruciating pain. Finally, he pulled out a 15 cm (5.9 inches) long nail, he had stored in his stomach after he escaped the first time in case something like this happened. The girl didn’t seem to be able to hold he puke and kept on puking.
He struggles to stand properly, as he has lost a lot of blood. He tries walk towards the gate but struggles because he is dizzy. Amari hypes himself to focus on his task. He attempts to break the lock on the gate with the nail, he repeatedly hits the lock, and it slowly starts breaking down. He finally breaks the lock.
The sound of the gate opening wakes the other children up from their slumber. Amari heads to the girl’s cage and starts to do the same, until he finally opens it. They both nod at each other.
Four wakes up and realizes what happens. Amari notices him and they both lock eyes. After opening the girl’s cage, he hurries to Four’s cell and does the same thing to open the cell. Four is sitting on the floor in disbelief. After Amari opens the cage, he slowly opens it, four goes back in fear as Amari approaches him slowly. When he gets to in front of four, he offers his hand to him. Four gets calm and realizes it’s harmless and smiles and takes his hand, Amari lifts him up.
Then Amari swings the nail towards four’s neck and stabs him, four seemed to be in shocked. As he goes to the floor while grabbing the stabbed part, Amari goes to sit on him and stabs the same spot over the covering hand simultaneously. After he shakes uncontrollably, four stops breathing but he still is stabbing the girl, the other children are watching in horror and disgust. Amari doesn’t seem to stop, and he doesn’t look angry or furious but is calm.
He finally stops after what seemed to be a long time, Amari exists four’s cell and offers his hand towards the girl without spouting a word. His hand is filled with the blood of four, along with his blood spatter. This was horrifying for the girl, and she hides her hand behind her back refusing Amari’s offering hand.
