This mutant beast, covered in scales with double wings on its back, was now agilely turning its head, a pair of eyes each fixed on Li Yi and Zhao Fangji. With a series of whines, it flapped its wings attempting to blow them away, but this attack seemed to have little effect. The two men swiftly moved about, avoiding the sweeping gusts of wind, and did not rush to attack.

They were waiting, waiting for a suitable opportunity.

Suddenly.

The mutant beast ceased its attack. It no longer waved its wings; however, at this moment, Zhao Fangji caught an opportunity. His figure shifted, suddenly closing in slightly on the creature, and this proximity provided the mutant beast the chance to strike. Its four sharp claws burst forth with power, and the ground beneath exploded. Its massive body once again turned into a series of afterimages, lunging towards Zhao Fangji with astonishing speed.

"As expected." A mix of shock and fear gripped Zhao Fangji’s heart; his feint had succeeded.

This type of mutant beast’s combat capability is so terrifyingly strong that even a tiny lapse could be captured and followed by a lethal attack, without any hint of mercy.

And this was precisely what Zhao Fangji desired.

He had to take this risk in order to create a chance for Li Yi to strike.

Zhao Fangji had no intention of attacking; instead, he chose to defend. His body shone with a silver radiance, interweaving as though forming an impenetrable shield in front of him, attempting to withstand the mutant beast’s onslaught.

Zhao Fangji felt a tremendous, irresistible force strike his body. The silver radiance that formed his shield was shattered instantly, and then he felt the beast’s huge beak smash onto his arms like a heavy hammer.
