Chapter 408 - 287: Sudden Blaze
At this moment, for the first time, Li Yi felt what it was like to be exhausted, what it meant to be unable to fend off attacks from all directions with just his fists. His Qi-Blood was draining out of him, as he forcibly carved a path through this mountain of corpses and sea of blood. But his advance was too arduous; every step was a massive drain on his body.
Endless corpses lay before him, and even now, more kept falling down, attempting to bury both him and Lin Yue beneath them.
Despite that, Li Yi remained resolutely determined as he charged forward. His Fist Power rampaged, and once again, he blasted a way through the corpses. By now, he could hear the thunderous roars ahead, which were the sounds of Professor Zhang Songlin wielding lightning to slay the surrounding evil spirits. However, the current roars of thunder were no longer as deafening as before.
If he could exhaust his strength, so could Professor Zhang Songlin.
"There’s hope."
Hearing such thunder gave Li Yi encouragement; he knew he was close to reaching them.
Once they joined forces with Professor Zhang Songlin, Li Yi could potentially turn the tide with the mystical artifacts in his possession.
Though a strike from Li Yi would only calm the fierce ghosts for a mere ten or so seconds, even that short time was enough for everyone to escape and survive. As long as they lived, everything else could be dealt with.
However, the remainder of the journey was incredibly tough.
Li Yi felt his Qi-Blood depleting significantly, and he was close to exhaustion. When that happened, not to mention rendezvousing with Professor Zhang Songlin, even self-preservation would be difficult. Moreover, if he gave in, Lin Yue behind him would suffer; she too would be buried in this mountain of corpses without escape.
