Her gaze locked in place as the scissors were yanked free, blood spraying in a hot arc across her line of sight, splattering jaggedly and clouding her vision.
The sheer force of it stunned her mind, freezing her mid-thought as it struggled to process the unfolding horror.
Behind her—unnoticed—Ally slowly rose, her neck tilting side to side with sharp cracks. A deep, crooked grin stretched across her face, unnerving in its stillness.

Still cracking her neck, she pressed a hand to the side of it and stepped forward, her body abruptly splitting clean down the center. There was no sound, no resistance—just a sudden, jarring separation.
From the rift, a slick, tar-like black residue burst forth—thick like oil, glistening unnaturally as it splattered to the floor like living sludge.
It hit the ground and immediately began to move.
Ally’s body recovered again, yet that grin didn’t fade; it seemed amused by the unfolding chaos.
