Aurora dropped through the rooftop and stepped into the room, her boots landing softly on the bloodstained floor. Her eyes scanned the scene in silence.
The smell of iron hung thick in the air. The walls were scratched, the floor soaked in gore. She saw the broken body of Versalon, the trembling girl clutching her father’s unmoving arm, and the quiet fury building behind Ryuzen’s golden eyes.
Aurora exhaled a quiet sigh, her expression heavy.
"Another family torn apart," she murmured to herself. "How many more like this before it’s over?"
Even with all her talent as a healer, she couldn’t bring the dead back. No spell, no potion, no divine gift could undo what had been done.
On the other side of the room, Ryuzen stood frozen.
