Chapter 428 - Oath of the Remembered World
[Arcane Grade Item Generation Complete.]
[Item Name: Oath of the Remembered World]
[Item Grade: Arcane]
[Item Classification: Utility Type – Spatial / Conceptual]
Atlas and everyone in the room froze when a strange light appeared before them. It was simply light, forming a floating circle in the air. It looked a little unnatural, yet there was no doubt it truly existed.
"Oath of the Remembered World?" Atlas repeated the name of the item softly.
Everyone stared at the same object, urging Atlas to take it right away.
"Do it, Atlas!" Ember said excitedly. "We are dying to know what kind of item it is!"
"Yes, just from the name alone it sounds really... terrifying..."
"And spatial?" another added. "Isn’t that similar to Edrik’s ability?"
Atlas nodded slowly and reached out toward the object floating in the air. The moment he grasped it, the light condensed into something solid in his hand. It was stone-like in shape, glowing faintly as it rested in his palm.
He began reading the item’s description.
[Allows its bearer to traverse distance through memory itself. The destination is formed from places deeply engraved within the user’s consciousness. The stronger, clearer, and more emotionally resonant the memory, the more precise and stable the teleportation becomes.]
[Primary Effect: Memory-Based Teleportation]
[The user may instantly relocate to a destination formed from their own memories.]
[- Shallow or unclear memories may result in spatial deviation or incomplete manifestation.]
[- Strong memories allow near-perfect arrival with minimal distortion.]
"A teleportation item?" Atlas said, his voice trembling slightly.
"Damn! A teleportation item?"
"How insane is an Arcane Grade teleportation item?"
"This is far beyond what I imagined. But teleportation... I knew it would be something unbelievable."
"Explain it in more detail, Atlas."
Atlas tried to summarize the description in his own words.
"This item allows its user to teleport to any place they clearly remember."
"Interesting," someone replied. "Wouldn’t that mean it could bring someone back to wherever they originally came from?"
"Could it take someone to another world?" another voice asked. "Like... people who are not originally from this world."
"Damn," someone muttered. "I really want to see just how far this item can actually be used."
The room buzzed with excitement, curiosity, and a sense that they had just touched something far greater than they first expected.
However, the item’s description did not end there. Atlas continued reading and explaining it to the others.
[Affinity Holder: Atlas Blackthorn (Bound)]
[This item has formed an exclusive affinity with Atlas.]
[- Only Atlas is capable of activating or maintaining synchronization with this item.]
[- Any attempt by another individual to use this item will result in total rejection.]
[- If ownership is forcibly transferred, the item’s affinity level, progression, and unlocked functions will be fully reset.]
[Affinity Growth Mechanism:]
[Affinity increases through continued usage, synchronization, and mental resonance between Atlas and the item.]
[As affinity rises, additional functions and enhancements will be unlocked.]
[Current Affinity Level: 1]
[Potential Unlocks at Higher Affinity Levels:]
[- Reduced spatial distortion]
[- Expanded memory anchoring range]
[- Multi-target transport (restricted)]
[- Emergency recall under critical conditions]
[Warning:]
[Affinity growth is irreversible while bonded. However, affinity cannot be inherited or transferred.]
[Mana Consumption: Extremely High]
[...]
The system description was extremely long and detailed, far more than just that. But from what Atlas could summarize, the item could level up the more it was used, unlocking even greater potential over time.
For example, it could eventually allow multi-target teleportation and similar effects.
Still, one question stood out.
"It did not mention before that this item would be bound to me," Atlas said.
"Yes, that sounds pretty bad," someone responded.
"No, not really," another voice replied. This time, it was Tessa. "For high-grade items, even Legendary ones, they are usually highly personalized to their user. The more personalized an item is, the greater its potential tends to be."
"But shouldn’t this item provide benefits for all the lords in the alliance?" someone asked.
Another said. "It would actually be better if this item is tailored specifically for Atlas. That way, we will still need to rely on one another."
"It is a bit disappointing," someone admitted, "but I think this is the best outcome."
Atlas then added, "I will do my best to use this item in a way that benefits the other lords in this alliance as well."
After that, the discussion continued, shifting toward broader topics about the alliance and the single Arcane Grade Item they had obtained.
But, was it truly worthy of being called Arcane Grade?
Teleportation itself was not something unheard of. Even the system already facilitated it in limited ways.
However, true freedom of teleportation was something everyone knew could not be achieved so easily by just anyone.
At one point, someone joked that Morganna used to fly around the planet in just a matter of minutes. Well, she had been close to a god in her own world back then. Her power had already surpassed what even an Arcane Grade item could offer.

Right after the gathering of lords ended, Atlas returned to the highest floor of Gacha Haven’s main fortress. He held the Oath of the Remembered World, his grip tight and unmoving.
Edrik was with him.
"It is a shame that the item is bound only to me," Atlas said softly.
"I believe that will change once the item grows stronger, my lord," Edrik replied.
Atlas did not respond. He lowered his gaze to the stone and stayed silent for a brief moment.
"Do you not plan to test the item?" Edrik asked.
Atlas studied the moon-white stone resting in his palm, then slowly nodded.
"This may be a selfish act," he murmured.
"You are the lord," Edrik said in an even tone. "You rule this place, and you are also the one meant to carry that item."
Atlas clenched his hand around it and straightened his posture.
In that same instant, white light wrapped around his body. Before another breath could pass, Atlas disappeared from the room.
Edrik, left behind, allowed a faint smile to touch his normally blank expression.
"Should we go after the lord?" a voice echoed from the corner of the room. A figure stepped out from the shadows.
"He has reached a point where we no longer need to worry as we once did," Edrik replied. "He is not the same anymore. And I am certain he already knows exactly what he plans to do."
Edrik then gave Kurogasa a crooked smile. "Care to place a bet? Do you think he will kill those people or spare them?"
Kurogasa remained quiet, offering no answer as Edrik walked past him.
Edrik muttered to himself, "I will ask Karian to bet with me instead."
