Catherine picked up her water glass and took a couple of sips, then continued, "Next, my team will depart for the front lines. Captain Griss will take charge of matters here."

"Mm?" Captain Griss wondered, "Have we confirmed where the terrorists are from?"

"The Suri Federation," Catherine quickly replied, "A small country with three administrative stars, it was a vassal state of the Empire over three hundred years ago. It stopped paying tribute and switched to the New Federation Camp. The Empire has launched two wars against the Suri Federation, and this terrorist attack is their retaliation."

A team member said, "Isn’t the New Federation still behind this?"

"Why don’t we just attack the New Federation directly?"

"Those damn Federation folks can’t face us head-on, so they prefer underhanded tactics!"

"Quiet," Bryant raised a finger; the meeting room aboard the Poisoned Stinger Ship fell utterly silent.

Catherine said, "We just need to follow orders without questioning the higher-ups’ decisions. Our team is going because of Bryant, as they need an acknowledgment of this atrocity."

"Understood," Bryant laughed, "I’m quite adept at this sort of thing; there won’t be any mistakes."

Captain Griss sighed, "Let’s hope fewer people die."

"Looking at the current situation, that’s unlikely," Bryant said slowly, "Although the past two days’ headlines have been dominated by the White Ghost, we can’t ignore the surging public sentiment ignited by the terrorist attacks. They say our Empire is a dictatorship, but under such a regime, the higher-ups are more concerned with the so-called public opinion. A real war will definitely break out this time."
